Congratulation Catherine DuPont, Ph.D.
(Mentor: Dr. Carol Brenner; Committee Members: Drs. D. Randall Armant, James Rillema, Barry Bavister, and Derek Wildman)
 The Department would like to congratulate Dr. Catherine DuPont for successfully defending her dissertation: "Incidence and Mechanisms of Chromosomal Anomalies During Early Development of Rhesus Macaques" on Wednesday, March 18th.
Catherine, originally from Belgium, received a
BS in biology, an MS in ecotoxicology, and a second MS in cellular biotechnology from the Cantholic University fo Louvain.  Between 2000-04, Catherine worked as an embryologist for two different fertility clinics in Belgium before applying to the graduate school at the University of New Orleans.  She as accepted and began her research in cytogenic instability of rhesus macaque preimplantation embryos & embryonic stem cells with Dr. Carol Brenner.  When Dr. Brenner joined our department in 2007, Catherine transferred to Wayne State to finish her PhD degree and she's now our first Ph.D. in Physiology with a concentration in the Reproductive Sciences
